Mondale High has played an important role in the Mitchell's Plain area in uplifting young people for the past 30 years. The school has had a matric pass rate of more than 90% for the past ten years and it was also awarded the national award for most improved school in the Western Cape province. It further also received the provincial award for academic excellence. In celebrating Mondale High School's 30 Anniversary a Mondale High School Alumni Association was established in September 2011 with its official launch taking place in March 2012. The Alumni Association has been established by a group of Ex-Mondalians to explore plough back initiatives to assist with further enhancing the efficiency of the school. The objectives of the Alumni Society are to: Foster relationship between the school and its past learners; promote the interests and welfare of the School administer such bursaries as may be held in trust by the MAS
